Our Mission
We are a group passionate about supporting rescues across Aotearoa with quality and specialized medical foster placements.
Our organization is a non-profit group that offers specialized care to rescues nationwide. We rely solely on item and monetary donations to provide self-funded assistance to rescues, including medical support for animals in our care. Our goal is to help keep the rescues' costs down so they can better allocate their funds to rescue and surgical needs.
Our organization is unique in that we provide specialized care and accept parvovirus-infected animals, ICH aka Infectious Canine Hepatitis (even though it is rare here and there is no available test in New Zealand; we have encountered and nursed three cases), coccidia, ringworm, deformities, trauma (both medical and behavioral), and neurological trauma. This is just a partial list of the conditions we handle.
As you may imagine, we use a wide range of medical supplies, such as syringes, IV fluid bags, gowns, gloves, isolation and quarantine items, cleaning supplies (including Virkon), drip lines, wound care products, bandages, chloromide, microshield, select medications, and microchips. This is just a partial list of the items we provide free of charge.
Our group partners with veterinary professionals to deliver cost-effective, high-quality services for rescue organizations.
We provide 24-hour intensive care without the need for overnight stays at veterinary clinics, resulting in significant cost savings for the rescue. Our services include administering veterinarian-prescribed injections, subcutaneous fluids, medications, bandage changes, and wound care. We are actively fundraising to acquire a drip pump within the next 12 months to further enhance our capabilities.
Our dedicated team comprises of experienced animal care specialists, internationally certified behaviorists, veterinary nurses, daycare owners, internationally qualified trainers, neonatal care specialists, and other professional volunteers. We also provide free cost saving services to rescues such as behavioral assessments and training, rehabilitation for medical or trauma-related conditions, and rehabilitation for true feral dogs.
Our organization is firmly dedicated to the welfare of our community. We provide a comprehensive array of services, encompassing food provision, flea and worm treatments, microchipping, vaccinations, desexing, and medical treatment rendered by our seasoned veterinarians. In instances where donations fall short, we frequently assume the financial burden of these services ourselves.
To support our ongoing efforts, we have established a dedicated veterinary account where members of the public can make donations, additionally, we maintain a Givealittle page and organize fundraising events to ensure that we can continue to provide these essential services to our community.
